Pizza Hut Delivery by Glovo

Lunch: pizza+ @ 12:45 p.m., He wanted Hawaiian pizza. Pizza Hut in Lisbon has pizza named ‘Havaiana (Hawaiian)’ but it is totally different from one in the US. It has shrimp, tuna and pineapple…so I just ordered a simple pizza with ham and pineapple for him. (20.90€)

Pan Roasted Duck Magret

I had looked for duck breast for last several months and finally found it (6.29€, 13.49€/kg). I wished to get one never frozen but it seems no place sells only fresh breast and a friend tells me that the frozen is tasty too.

Lunch: Duck Magret with wine sauce, nabiças, Alentejano red @ 1:30 p.m.

Our favorite winery so far. This bottle is only 10€ but it has elegant aroma and complex taste. He loves especially after taste.

We enjoy wine with cheese and moelas (chicken gizzard) before lunch @ 12:00 p.m.

Dessert: chocolate covered cookie & cream (dark chocolate & pistachio)

Instant noodle with egg @ 4:30 p.m., I really don’t like this Pingo Doce brand.

Supposed to be a Rack of Lamb

Saturday morning, we walked to Marques de Pombal to order a Cartão de Lisboa VIVA, which functions as a monthly pass or balance card for the public transportations in Lisbon area.

Stopped by the mercado on the way home to look for duck breast but only a whole duck was available. So we got pork cheek and a rack of lamb. The butcher offer to separate by bone, but somehow I refused.

Opened a bottle of Tras-os-Montes red. I love it.

Lunch: Roasted lamb, grelos, tomato @ 1:30 p.m., I roasted the whole rack in oven and cut for chops afterwards, but couldn’t. I regret I didn’t follow the butcher suggested.

I had fish roe and grelos spaghetti, he had leftover pork and rice.

Chocolate and a little more wine @ 2:40 p.m.

Grocery Shopping @ Mercado

I went to Mercado 31 de Janeiro to buy seafood and fruit, that are not available at most supermarkets.

2 cheese (5€), 2 wines (21€), strawberries (4€), grelos (some green in season 1€), leitão (roasted pork 9€), salmonete (a whole fish 12€), fish egg (3€), Freixo (Alentejo) is our favorite!

We started with wine and cheese & strawberries. He had pork too @ 12:30 p.m.

I had salmonete sashimi and he had it sauteed.

This is Salmonete, which I found so tasty at a sushi restaurant in Lisbon.

I made “Tarako” Spaghetti with fish egg, butter and soy sauce. Simple but good 🙂

Yogurt to finish the day @ 7:10 p.m.

Pastries Delivered by UberEats @ 5:30 A.M.!?

There is a bakery/factory that has been recommended by several articles but this place is open only from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Since we are already in bed at 9:00 p.m., I placed an order through UberEats for delivery between 5:30-6:00 a.m., which is the latest option. Here it is! It arrived on time. The delivery person was so considerate not to ring the entrance bell that would be disturbing to the entire building but to text me when arrived so he could hand me the bag without noise.

Breakfast: Bola de Berlim (simple one & with cream), coffee @ 6:40 a.m., We split.

Picked up lunch at Pirata. Say hello to the senhores after several weeks absence.

Lunch: Grilled veal chop under rice and fries (Costeleta de novilho na grelha), Cuttlefish stew (Jardineira de choco à primavera) + pastel de bacalhau, chamuça + Azores white (Arinto de Pico) 1:00 p.m.

Good food and good wine

Dessert: Pastel de nata and samples of mil-folhas

Art, Doughnut & Beer

New art project has been going around o Mercado de Arroios (a traditional market). Yay!

I talked to one of the team members working there. He says it’s a collaborative project of Junta de Freguesia (the Parish) and the studio. They also work on the art around Time Out Market Lisboa. It’s a bit too far to walk there, but can’t wait to see it.

Always enjoy these little pieces. Lisbon is amazing…

Doughnut from Terrapão & beer @ 4:00 p.m., Surprisingly good! I think they use slow fermented dough as for the bread. After a walk beer was a perfect pairing. Bought a piece of banana bread and brioche buns for burger tomorrow.
