Avocado Toast & Frango Frito

“Brunch”: Avocado Toast @ 11:00 a.m.

It tastes better than it looks. Simply mashed avocado with lime juice and a poached egg in microwave on toasted bolo de caco with butter. Salt & pepper to finish.

Lunch: Frango Frito (Fried chicken), salad, rice, red wine @ 1:20 p.m.

Marinated bone-in chicken thighs with shio-koji, grated garlic & ginger for a half day. It was very juicy and seasoned perfectly.

Dessert: Tarte de Amêndoa (Almond tart), one of my favorite Portuguese sweets

Meat Sauce Spaghetti

Lunch: Meat sauce spaghetti, salad, red wine @ 1:10 p.m. I started chopping onions, celery, carrot early morning and stewed the sauce for 1 hour, so there was enough time for the flavor to be settled.

“Asian” Salmon Lunch

I went to buy a grocery today. The supermarket and streets look normal. Although Portugal has a bad situation since last March, people look calm and disciplined as usual.

Lunch: Grilled salmon, rice, watercress, vinho verde @ 12:45 p.m.

I added sesame oil to watercress and sesame over salmon & rice. Also, I put a little bit soy sauce on salmon. With all that, it tasted like Asian food 🙂

Dessert: Baba de Camelo (Portuguese caramel mousse but more liquidity) from Pirata

Carbs & Sugar Day

I love carbs & sugar so much. Today is a-once-in-a-while day I get as much carbs & sugar as I want.

Breakfast: French toast with Nutella, apple, coffee @ 6:15 a.m.

Pastel de Nata & coffee @ 11:15 a.m. Now we are very picky about Nata and this is not the one from our favorite store, but it was pretty good 🙂

Lunch: Spaghetti., rice & pork rib curry @ 1:00 p.m.

I made easy “ramen” with Chinese noodle, udon dashi and sesame oil. It was not bad at all. It would be more enjoyable with egg, I think.
