Take out lunch: Family chicken combo 10€, costeleta 6.50€ @ 12:30 p.m.This red wine is like a nice California pinot noir. I wanted ‘Picanha’ but they didn’t have it today. Costeleta (probably ribeye) was so good too.Dessert @ 2:00 p.m.

Breakfast: Queijada, Pão de Deus, strawberries, coffee @ 7:30 a.m.
Had a little talk with a restaurant employee and other customers plus this little puppy 🙂
I went to Mercado 31 de Janeiro, a traditional market in Lisbon.
A good place to buy fresh fruits and seafood. Of course Portuguese cheese and wine too.Today I didn’t go to a supermarket but shopped all grocery @ mercado and mercearia (little grocery store).
Cod egg & shrimp from mercadoLunch: Queijo fresco (fresh cheese), olive, bread, strawberries, leitão (roasted pork), wine @ 12:10 p.m., This Dão white wine has a clean taste. Everything else tasted so good. I was taught at a fish market that Portugueses either boiled or grill cod eggs, so I grilled. It tasted good without any seasoning but better with a little bit salt or soy sauce. Portuguese shrimp pasta seasoned with garlic, butter & lemon

Breakfast: Vegan pancakes with pistachio cream, coffee @ 6:45 a.m.
Lunch: Chicken Katsu, salad, wine @ 1:00 p.m.Another round with Tonkatsu sauce and riceDessert: “Creme de Leite”
We took an hour walk around Saldanha and stopped by a bakery on the way home.Portuguese egg tart & tea @ 5:30 p.m.

Breakfast: Bolo de laranja, Bolo Lêvedo with Pistachio cream, orange, coffee @ 7:10 a.m.Arroz de Pato (duck rice) & wine (Encruzado from Dão) @ 10:30 a.m.
It was not intentional but totally coincident that I prepared “pancake” for breakfast on Pancake Day.I really wanted warm Soba (with egg and cress) @ 11:10 a.m.Somehow I was hungry all the time today.
Lunch: Easy pizza with Alentejano wine @ 1:30 p.m.
We took a little walk and had a soda (Portuguese version of fanta) afterwards @ 5:30 p.m.
We ordered 3-course-Valentine’s Day Meal for two (65€) by A Taberna da Rua das Flores, which I believe is one of trusted and respected restaurants in Lisbon. Of course it’s one of our favorites. Lunch time @1:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m.
They had two kinds of drinks, Cocktail Sacaninha or Sparkling wine (Espumante in Portuguese). I choose the bottle (15€). It’s been a while and it’s nice to open a sparkling once in a while but I prefer non-bubble wine. Vinho Verde is exception because it’s really mildly bubbled. This was nice and good with the food anyway.
This is not a typical delivery food. I have to finish up putting in the oven and plating together.Entrada (1st course): “Royale” de Foie, Gelatina de Moscatel e Bolacha AmericanaPrato (2nd course): Empadão de Sapateira (Portuguese potato gratin with crab)
Mashed potato and saucy crab are layered
Sobremesa (Dessert): “Queques de Lava Escaldante” com Compota de Ginja e Poejo
Food was delicious and process of order to delivery was so smooth but we realize how much we miss dining out. Experience would never be the same and presentations are very important.
Lunch: Carbonara with guanciale, spinach, Azores cheese, wine @ 1:15 p.m. Parmigiano got mold in the fridge, so I used milder cheese from Azores, which was not bad 🙂
Breakfast: Leftover Italian sweets @ 7:45 a.m., Creamy carrot soup & bread @ 10:50 a.m., Two kinds of cookies are included in the delivery package from an Italian cafe and a wine company.
One of my favorite Portuguese dishes is Arroz de Pato (Duck Rice). This kit, duck meat & broth with simple recipes is very convenient to make it at home instead of working on a whole duck and making it from scratch.I haven’t bought a lot of stuff in the kitchen but used limited tools that come with the apartment. Arroz de Pato is supposed to serve in shallower oven dish but this pot is only something oven safe we have now.Lunch: Arroz de Pato, salad, wine @ 1:40 p.m.
Breakfast: Strawberries, chocolate pastry, coffee @ 7:00 a.m.Soup & Bread @ 9:30 a.m., we went to our favorite bakery, Terrapão to pick up a freshly-baked bread, Trigo. It tasted good as always.Lunch: Ginger pork, pimento padrão (very similar to shishito peppers), rice @ 12:50 p.m.
Dessert: Ice cream
Casa Ferreirinha, Papa Figos, Tinto, Douro Portugal: A typical Douro red, well-balanced and smooth. Available for 6-8€ at a local supermarket. One of advantages living in Portugal is enjoying great wine daily-basis like this for less than $10!Lanche: Bread & butter, cheese, olives, red wine @ 3:45 p.m.
