Leftover Chicken & Delicious Red Wine

Lunch: Leftover from yesterday @ 12:20 p.m.

This red wine, Jardim de Granito from Dão region, Portugal is very delicious. Portuguese red is generally a blend of multiple kinds of grapes and very smooth, but this one is even smoother with fruity aroma and elegant finish. The price is unbelievable (8€). Love it!!!

Dessert from Docel @ 1:10 p.m.

Cooking Fresh Clams for the First Time

Breakfast: Vegetable soup, bolo de chocolate, rolo de canela, coffee @ 8:30 a.m.

I took a look at several recipes online and simply cooked them with white wine & garlic.

I looks good but not really. It was too salty. I probably put too much salt in the water to let them breath sands out.

I added rice and egg into the clam soup to make “risotto.”

Chirashi Take Away Lunch

In Portugal, the situation of covid-19 has been bad…unfortunately. More new cases than the beginning of pandemic when Portugal controlled it very well. I think that 2 or 3 waves possibly got bigger because we have less infected people from 1st wave. Anyway, the government decided to implement more restrictions starting tomorrow, so I went to get a to-go Chirashi (sushi) for lunch. It seemed that nothing has changed in city just calm and lovely as usual.

Chirashi lunch including miso soup & salad from Aron Sushi (16.50€) + Portuguese rose wine

Tuna, ebi, tai, salmon, toro, tako, aji, katsuo, tamago…so delicious.

Squid aemono was good too.

Brunch: Leftover turkey, carrot salad etc., red wine @ 11:20 a.m.

Followed by Bolo Rei

Carbonara @ 3:00 p.m. Guanciale was very flavorful. I was afraid that it would be too salty and didn’t put salt in the water to cook pasta, but that was wrong. Next time I am sure that I would make it better.

Followed by a truffle
