This week the number of new cases increased significantly in Lisbon, so I was thinking to stay home, but changed my mind and took Metro to buy bread at one of the best bakeries, Gleba. Panettone Chocolate (16.99€), Baguete Rústica (1.49€), Brioche (0.65€ x 2)Baguete (Baguette) is so good with/without butter. I would go buy this again.Panettone with dark chocolate and hazelnut is amazing! Now I want to try Panettone Classico too.
Had lunch with a friend at one of my favorite restaurants in Lisbon
We decided to have a glass of white for fish and red for meat instead of a bottle. My first glass (right) was ‘Serra Oca, Moscatel Graúdo’ that I have wanted to try. It looks orange and tasted very dry with delicate fruitiness.Sopa Fria de Melancia (Watermelon soup) 3.50€, asked one order to split into two bowls Vierinhas na Brasa (Grilled Scallop with Miso Butter) 10€, my favoriteJoaquinzinhos a Arroz de Tomate (Fried Spanish mackerels & Tomato Rice) 11€My second glass was from the left bottle. Portuguese wine never disappoints.Iscas Milanesas a Elas (Veal Liver) 9.50€, Very intense but I love it. We absolutely needed a glass of red for this dish.Pudim de Pão (Bread Pudding) 4.50€ & Mousse de Chocolate com Azeite e Flor de Sal (Chocolate Mousse with Olive Oil & Salt) 5€, both good with red wine
We kept talking at a quiosque with a great view of Tejo River afterwards (Toal 6.5h)
Afuri Ramen Lunch @ 1:30 p.m., Finally our friends tried ramen at Afrui, my favorite ramen in the world. Yes, I say in the world. I didn’t know Afuri in Japan but this is my type of ramen. I had Yuzu Shoyu this time.
What I love about Afuri is they offer advantages from both Japan and Portugal. Food is authentically so Japanese (plus they carry my favorite sake) but in a Portuguese format, menu do almoço (Lunch) including drink (beer & wine included!) & cafe, which is seen a lot in Portugal. Ramen itself could be very expensive in Lisbon but we can enjoy amazing ramen, drink and cafe for only 12€ at Afuri during weekday lunch. We had Chicken Karaage & Gyoza too. Friends really enjoyed it all 🙂
A friend showed us the Art School she went and we hung out at Starbucks after…We are so lucky to have wonderful friends!
I felt too lazy to go get pastries for breakfast yesterday. I placed an order a delivery instead. There is a pastry shop called, “Fabrica (factory)” nearby. It’s open only from late night to 6:00 a.m. I assume that it sells pastries mainly to cafes and restaurants. So the latest delivery time is 6:00 a.m.Breakfast @ 7:00 a.m.Lunch: Hamburger on Portuguese bread @ 1:30 p.m., we had duck rice around 11:00 a.m.It’s not bad…Actually I kinda like it.Dessert: Pastel de Nata from Fabrica, it was okay. I strongly recommend that you try Pasteis de Belem when you are in Lisbon.
